We run life skills courses for children and adults

We cover subjects like: relationships, conflict, feelings, communication skills and money management.

Life Skills Training

At the centre for street children we also teach life skills for the parents. It is challenging and rewarding, but we believe it meets a real need.

We also teach those who are interested, how to share what they have learnt with others. We are currently training new trainers as well as adding more courses so more people can benefit from these much needed life skills.

Life Skills

We teach five different categories of life skills, these include:

  • Health – personal hygiene, diet, sickness, home hygiene, hand washing(!) and dental care
  • Relational – manners, boundaries, trust, conflict resolution, communication and how to have healthy relationships.
  • Practical – time management, CV writing, cooking and washing clothes,
  • Financial – money management, budgets, banking, saving, borrowing and loan sharks.
  • Personal – decision making, self- awareness, feelings/emotions/thoughts and forgiveness.

Apprenticeships and Work Opportunities

Dan and Truong are both on our apprenticeships; one is training to be a mechanic, the other is learning to be a chauffeur.

We are currently building a network of companies that will offer these kinds of opportunities to people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
